Booking is quick and easy through the official GOV.UK website. Applications are managed by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), and the exams themselves are run by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

After you apply, DVSA will email payment instructions. Once payment is confirmed, SQA will send you all the details for your exam day — including location, time, and what to bring.

External Requirements/Materials

To sit the DGSA exams, candidates must book directly through the official GOV.UK website. The application is managed by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), and exams are administered by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

After applying, you’ll receive instructions for payment from DVSA. Once your booking is confirmed, SQA will provide full details for your exam day.

  • Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) 2025 edition, plus any corrigendum document

  • Dangerous Goods Emergency Action Code List – 2025 Edition: You don’t need to bring a copy for the exam — relevant extracts will be provided with your exam paper. However, you are allowed to bring the full publication if you wish.
